Enterprise cloud solution provider Nutanix has acquired Sequoia-backed startup Calm.io and PernixData. It offers a platform for smooth transitioning of software and applications to their newer updates. The venture claims to converge compute, virtualization and storage into a resilient, software-defined solution with rich machine intelligence.Most of its 43 member team is based out of Bengaluru. The startup’s headquarters is in San Francisco.
Nutanix has also executed a definitive agreement to acquire PernixData, a pioneer in scale-out data acceleration and analytics, the company said. PernixData was co-founded in February 2012 by Poojan Kumar and Satyam Vaghani. Dheeraj Pandey, chairman at Nutanix-

Calm.io is a complete DevOps Automation Platform for modern environments comprised of containers, clouds and micro services. The venture deploys, manages and operates distributed applications containing containers, virtual machines and binaries from a single console. Calm enables push-button lifecycle automation managed by enterprise policies for governance and compliance.
Calm.io, which facilitates most of its engineering work from India, maintains that it will continue to provide the dedicated support experience via the Calm.io support portal, which will remain available as the Calm. io team will work with Nutanix to develop the next generation DevOps automation for Enterprise Cloud. Aaditya Sood, CEO at Calm.io. said in a statement-
